The Royal Yachting Association (RYA), is the UK National body for all forms of boating. The RYA scheme is widely regarded as the worlds leader for international maritime qualifications which are recognised worldwide. Here we offer RYA courses from recognised Training Centres in Greece which are approved to conduct all levels of sailing courses up to Yachtmaster® qualification. Whether you are an absolute beginner who would like to become a useful member of a boat`s crew, or are looking to get a skipper`s licence in order to charter your own boat, or if you are already an experienced yachtsman we have courses at every level to develop your knowledge, seamanship and safety while at sea from a variety of fantastic locations all throughout the Greek seas.

RYA sailing courses from Aegina

Aegina is about an hour from Piraeus port (Athens) by hydrofoil and the doorway to the Argo and Saronic gulfs and the Peloponnese mainland coast. It`s an ideal area for anyone wishing to learn how to sail because the islands are close together and well protected from northerly and eastern winds which tend to blow in the summer. As well as learning how to sail, you will also be able to swim in crystal clear waters.

RYA sailing courses from Poros

Poros island is 1.5 hours by hydrofoil from Piraeus port (Athens) in the Saronic gulf. It`s an ideal location for learning to sail because you are in the heart of small bays, pretty ports with short sailing legs between stops. During the course you will have the opportunity to visit a new location each day, swim in crystal clear waters, and experience life on board a sailing yacht in the Greek islands.

RYA sailing courses from Lefkas

Reliable weather in the Ionian makes this a hugely popular sailing destination, with temperatures ranging from the low 20s in the early/late season up to the mid-30s in July and August. Sailing conditions are generally moderate with winds typically force 2-5, and a largely protected body of water to explore. More open-water sailing is available to the north or further south.

Based in Gouvia Marina on the island of Corfu, from here you will set sail into the Ionian Sea to visit many of the area`s famous islands and bays including: Paxos, Lefkas, Ithaca and Cephalonia (please note: we do not `day sail` from a marina, but sail to and overnight in different ports and anchorages every day). On a normal day you will sail between 20 and 30 miles.

RYA sailing courses from Kavala

The port of Kavala in northern Greece is close to Thessaloniki airport but accepts some flights also directly to Kavala. From here you can sail to various locations in the north Aegean, including Thasos, Limnos, Samothraki, Chalkidiki, Agios Efstratios and even the Sporades islands.
