Cabin cruises in the Aegean or Ionian

Sailing yacht Mythos, Ocean Star 56.1

Ideal for up to 8 guests in 4 double or twin en suite air-conditioned cabins with skipper and hostess. This yacht sails from Athens from April to June and from September to November and explores either the Argo-Saronic or the Cyclades islands depending on the wind conditions. In July there`s the opportunity for a one way trip through the Corinth Canal to the Ionian islands, where she sails from Lefkas in July and August (meltemi season) and then a one way trip back again in September, so there is a variety of itineraries to choose from. The professional crew will look after you throughout your stay and everything is included in the price except your evening meals, usually taken ashore at a local taverna.

There is a TV / DVD player as well as Radio and CD/Mp3/iPod layer with speakers in the saloon and on deck. There is a collection of music and movies on board but you are welcome to bring your own. Additionally there is a computer and internet connection, plus computer games for the kids. Each cabin also has a fan.

  • Charters begin on Sundays at 17:00 and end the following Sunday at 09:00
  • Cruises from early April - mid June and from late September - early November in the Aegean, exploring the Argo-Saronic, Peleponese or Cyclades islands from Athens or Lavrion.
  • Cruises from mid June - late September in the Ionian sea, exploring the southern Ionian from Lefkas.
  • Corinth Canal, one way – Athens to Lefkas, 13 - 20 June
  • Corinth Canal, one way, Lefkas to Athens, 19 - 26 September

PROPOSED CYCLADES ITINERARY

  • Embarkation: Lavrion, at 5 p.m.
  • Disembarkation: Lavrion, at 9 a.m.
  • Cruising Area: Western Cyclades Islands or Argo Saronic islands

Once you arrive on the yacht on Sunday and after a short briefing and a welcome drink, we will set sail for the next island where we will spend the first night. During your cruise we will spend each night at a different harbor, visiting the islands of the Western Cyclades (Kea, Kythnos, Serifos, Sifnos, Kimolos, Milos) finally returning to Lavrio marina late in the afternoon of the following Saturday.
We will spend our last night there and disembarkation will be at 9 a.m. on Sunday, after breakfast. The most likely itinerary (weather depending of course) is:

  • Sun    Embarkation and departure for Kea
  • Mon   Sifnos
  • Tues   Kimolos
  • Wed   Milos
  • Thur   Serifos
  • Fri      Kythnos
  • Sat     Lavrio Marina
  • Sun    Disembarkation at 9 a.m.

PROPOSED SARONIC ITINERARY
If the weather forecast is for strong winds in the Cyclades during the week, a cruise at this island group won’t be pleasant because of the bigger waves. As we want everyone to enjoy the cruise, depending on the forecast we may combine a few days in the Cyclades with a few days in the Saronic Islands and their protected waters or even have a full cruise in the Saronic in which case a likely itinerary will be:

  • Sun    Embarkation in Lavrio and departure for Kea
  • Mon   Aegina
  • Tues   Vathi
  • Wed   Poros
  • Thur   Spetses or Ermioni
  • Fri      Hydra
  • Sat     Lavrio
  • Sun    Disembarkation at 9 a.m.

PROPOSED IONIAN ITINERARIES

  • Embarkation: Lefkas, at 5 p.m.
  • Disembarkation: Lefkas, at 9 a.m.
  • Cruising Area: The southern Ionian islands (possibly also northern Ionian)

The itinerary remains fairly flexible as we have to consider the weather conditions at the time, but our aim is to explore the southern Ionian islands south of Lefkas and include visits to the southern and eastern bays of Lefkas, Ithaca, Kefalonia, Kalamos, Meganisi or Kastos, and possibly Zakynthos (Zante). On some weeks, if the weather is favourable, we may head north towards Corfu and the Paxi islands.

Once you arrive on the yacht on Sunday and after a short briefing and a welcome drink, we will set sail for the next island where we will spend the first night. During your cruise we will spend each night at a different harbor, visiting the islands of the Southern Ionian finally returning to Lefkas late in the afternoon of the following Saturday. We will spend our last night there and disembarkation will be at 9 a.m. on Sunday, after breakfast. The most likely itinerary (weather depending of course) is:

  • Mon   Kalamos
  • Tues  Ithaca (Vathi)
  • Wed   Kefalonia (Sami)
