Skippered yacht charters in Greece
If
you would like a sailing holiday but do not have the experience to
take a boat out on your own, we can arrange for you to have a skipper
aboard a private sailing yacht of your choice. A skippered sailing
holiday is also ideal for anyone who would like to learn how to sail,
the rules of the road, navigation, etc. Your skipper will be your
tutor and instructor, and by the time your holiday is over, you will
probably have enough confidence to join a flotilla the following year.
Together you will plan your route and discuss your preferences. We
have no doubt that you will find our skippers to be friendly, hospitable
and welcoming. At the same time, they can be discreet and will allow
you to maintain your privacy.
In addition to the charter fee for the yacht, you will be responsible
for all additional expenses including fuel, water, provisions, skipper's
meals, harbour and marina fees, cleaning and security deposit (if
requested).

Skipper - Thanasis Raptis
Hello, my name is Thanasis "Thunder" Raptis,
I was born in 1966 and I live in Volos on the Greek mainland. My sailing
experience since 1988 includes delivering yachts as skipper or crewmember,
skippering charter yachts, usually in the Med (Aegean and Ionian seas)
and occasionally in the Caribbean and a transatlantic.
Some
of my most interesting sailing voyages are:
In 1991 I sailed as crew on a delivery trip from Port Hyeres, South
France to Piraeus, Greece, via the Bonifacio and Messina straits.
In 2000 I was the skipper on a charter catamaran, sailing from Martinique
to St. Lucia, to St. Vincent and the Grenadines and back.
In 2003 I was crew on a private catamaran, sailing from Antigua to
Guadeloupe, to The Saints and back.
In early 2004 I sailed as crew on a private catamaran, from Antigua
to St. Bart and on to St. Martin, where I participated in the Heineken
Regatta. Then I was delivery crew onboard a 27m luxury yacht, sailing
across the Atlantic, from St. Martin to Mallorca, Spain, via the Azores
and Gibraltar.
So far I have clocked up approx. 25,000 N.M. in all weather conditions,
day and night.
I am familiar with life saving, sea survival, fire and damage control
techniques (ex Navy service) and I am First Aid G.R.C. (Greek Red
Cross) certified.
I am fluent in English, non-smoker, non-alcohol drinker, I hold a
university degree in Economics and a college degree in Hotel Administration.
My interests include anything concerning the sea: swimming, skin diving,
spear-fishing, celestial navigation in addition to reading, philosophy,
astronomy. I also like meeting people.

I
was born in 1959 in the beautiful seaside town of Volos. The sea has

my first steps in life. In 1986 I bought my own yacht, which was followed
by another two boats and today I am the owner of a professional tourist
sailing yacht. I have plenty of sailing experience as captain, having
completed thousands of sea miles in cruises with different types of
yachts and yacht deliveries. My knowledge includes: excellent use
of sailing and motor yachts combined with the corresponding certificates,
yacht maintenance and engineering with many years of experience, life-saving
and body guard skills (with two actual rescues and much involvements
helping boats which were in immediate danger), knowledge of First
