SOUTH IONIAN FLOTILLA: LEFKAS - LEFKAS

This flotilla can be offered with return flights and transfers from the UK to Preveza
or flotilla only. Contact us to request current rates and availability.

The Ionian Seas offer a stunning combination of cruising opportunities. At one extreme you can still discover uninhabited islands and hidden away coves. At the other you have harbours full of Venetian charm and sophistication. In between translucent waters, short passages and clement conditions ideal for the more relaxed sailor.

From the Ionian Flotilla base at Lefkas you will follow a course through the pristine waters of Meganisi and onwards to the sophistication of Fiskardo and the sheer serenity of Aghia Efymia. Week two takes you via Kastos and the stark beauty of the Dragoneras and to Lefkas.

Each island and every port of call has it's own unique allure as part of the patchwork Ionian sailing experience. You can swim in iridescent waters, explore timeless villages set amongst olive groves and vineyards, and indulge in the tastes and flavours of native Greece in traditional tavernas and lively bars. It's a wonderful fusion of ease and adventure.

You can combine a week at the Beach Club with a week or two on flotilla. The Ionian Beach Club boasts excellent facilities including swimming pool, tennis courts, 10 acres of gardens and a wonderful beach side location with a range of dinghies, windsurfers and catamarans for your use.

Greece, the Lefkas area
This area is surrounded by many green islands, which vary in size and some of which are uninhabited. Because this area contains so many islands, you will find a number of beautiful anchorages and delightful little harbours, where there is always room for you. Although the wind can build up during the day, usually no more than 4/5 Bft., there are no big waves, mainly due to the many islands. Sometimes during the afternoon, between the islands of Lefkas and Cephalonia the water can be somewhat rougher, due the fact that you meet the wind from open sea. Of course you can plan your route as you like and make longer trips, even as far as Zakinthos, the island famous for its turtles. But you will find that very soon you are used to the Greek rhythm of life and words like "hurry, fast, have to...." have disappeared from you vocabulary. This area is extremely suitable for children. There are countless peaceful bays with white "sandy" beaches where you can swim in clear blue water.

Lefkas, routes and harbours
Sailing in the blue waters of the Lefkas area, you will find the most beautiful spots in the Ionian Sea, like the very green island of Scorpios, near Nidri. This island belongs to the Onassis family, but nowadays you are allowed to anchor in one of the bays on the south side of this island. From the base you will sail along the island of Meganisi with the beautiful bays of Spartaghori and Katomeri.

The bigger islands of Lefkas and Cephalonia with the bays of Sivota , Vassiliki and Fiskardo. Don't forget the smaller islands like Ithaka , where according to the legend Odysseus lived, Kastos without roads and cars, or Kalamos with its abandoned village Port Leone. As there are no great distances between the harbours and/or anchorages, you can make the most of these beautiful routes. Anchor in one of the many bays, take a swim, go snorkelling, just relax in the sun or take your dinghy to explore the area.

Dinghy sailing holiday – Ionian Beach Club
Our Beach Club is an ideal family holiday village in a superb beach side setting with excellent dinghy sailing and windsurfing equipment at your disposal during your stay. There are great facilities for all the family, whilst use of all the sailing equipment including our wide variety of dighies, as well as the tennis courts and swimming pool plus half board meal arrangements are included in the price of your holiday.

A week at our Beach Club is also the perfect addition to a flotilla holiday for your first or second week on our South Ionian or even Saronic Isles flotillas. Situated on the coast of historic Achaia in the north western Peloponnese, the club has 80 bungalows set in extensive gardens of over 10 acres, directly on a long sandy beach. Within a short drive is the traditional fishing hamlet of Achaia with authentic fish tavernas. The market town of Kato Achaia has a good range of shops as well as banks, chemists etc.

CLUB/FLOTILLA
For those booking an additional week or two on our south Ionian flotilla, a transfer to our flotilla base at Astakos or Lefkas is included. The dinghy sailing Beach Club can also be combined with our Saronic Gulf flotilla.
